I'm a bookworm of the highest caliber! If you see me, I'll probably be reading. There's nothing I love more than finding a good book, and then sharing it with the world!

I've listened to 100%

Outlander - Diana Gabaldon

Meh.

I didn't love this, but I didn't really hate it either. I very much liked Claire, and the majority of the other characters. Mind you, I listened to this on audio book so they were easy to distinguish between. The narrator does a fabulous job of that! I also fell head over heels in love with the Scottish Highlands while immersed in this story. I'm not always a fan of historical romance, but this one had such a lush backdrop I couldn't help myself.

What I didn't love? There is so much sex and violence in this book. Seriously, I think it takes up a good 75% of the story line. I have no qualms with sex scenes. None at all. Claire and Jamie were even cute at times. But, really? Do I honestly have to sit through (remember, audiobook) actual hours of descriptions of them having sex? No thank you. I'm good.

Some of the sex scenes were also quite close to feeling like rape to me and, while I'm intelligent enough to see the line between the two, it still bugged me. I don't care if you are a Scottish Highlander in the past Jamie Fraser, you lift a hand to Claire and I swear I'll kick your ass! You've been warned.

Meh. I think I'm over this series. I no longer mind that I'm missing out on the tv show due to my lack of cable anymore. It probably wouldn't have been for me anyhow.
