I'm a bookworm of the highest caliber! If you see me, I'll probably be reading. There's nothing I love more than finding a good book, and then sharing it with the world!

Where Silence Gathers by Kelsey Sutton

Where Silence Gathers - Kelsey Sutton

I don't have a lot to say on this one, mainly because I read it purely for enjoyment and not really to review. I fell in love with Kelsey Sutton's first book, Some Quiet Place. The idea of giving emotions physical forms intrigued me. The quiet, melancholic beauty of the story just sealed the deal. I've been looking forward to reading Where Silence Gathers since then, just to see if it worked a second time.

This is a companion novel, so it isn't the same characters as the first although the concept is relatively the same. I met a new broken soul. Alexandra Tate. A girl who has had Revenge as her constant companion since her family was killed by a drunk driver when she was young. I'll admit, I didn't love Alexandra at first. It took me a while to fully get into her head, and understand where she was coming from. Perhaps it's just because I'm just a naturally forgiving person, but her quest for vengeance didn't pull me in. It actually pushed me away.

What made me fall in love with this book was the thin line drawn between Revenge and Forgiveness. Watching Alexandra battle between the two, warring with herself and with the personified emotions so close at hand, hit me just right. You couldn't have pulled me away if you tried. I had to reach the ending. So, bravo Kelsey Sutton! You've impressed me yet again.
