I'm a bookworm of the highest caliber! If you see me, I'll probably be reading. There's nothing I love more than finding a good book, and then sharing it with the world!
A short review on this one, because either I missed something or this just wasn't for me. First off, I'm fairly certain the review copy I received through NetGalley had pages out of order. It's either that, or there are flashbacks and aren't formatted very well in the digital version. I found myself confused when the plot line would stutter back and forth between past and present. I truly believe Maddy's story had the potential to be adorable, but I just couldn't follow it.
The saving grace? Definitely the illustrations. While they aren't my favorite ever, they fit the dreamlike story to a tee. I'll admit that I liked the animals much better than the people, in terms of the way that they were drawn, but I see this capturing the attention of young readers.
That's all I can say, honestly. I wish I'd had a chance to read this in a hard copy. It might have given me a better experience.
