Jessica (HDB)

If you're looking for some saccharine filled fiction, with a happily ever after at the ending, this novella is for you! That's actually the reason that I chose it for our book club's novella month. I wanted to introduce new readers in the group to romance, and what better way to do it than with a light and fluffy read? This novella fits snugly into that description. Sweet, funny at times, and full of "awwww" inducing moments.

Joe and Kate are your normal, every day people. They both happen to be headed to Seattle at the same time, and are thrown together when everything that can possibly stop them from getting there in time happens. I thought their chemistry was adorable, and I loved how they bantered back and forth. Keep in mind, this is a novella length story which means that things move very quickly. Girl meets boy. Boy meets parents. Girl and boy end up together. (Cue the "awwwws".)

While I wasn't super happy with the ending, and there was a distinct lack of anything steamy in this story, I liked it well enough. Three stars from this reader. Pick this up if you need a pick me up!
