Jessica (HDB)

I wanted a quick read for the train today, so I settled on Severed to amuse me while I traveled home. The long and the short of it? Great premise, shaky execution. The underlying concept of this novella is pretty terrifying. I liked the fact this wasn't your average zombie novel. Sadly, the writing was clunky, and I never felt that immersed. For a story that was supposed to evoke terror, it fell short for me.
