Shadow of Night - Deborah Harkness

I'm putting this on the backburner for a bit. It's feeling tedious to listen to it, and I know that it shouldn't. My thought is that I'm just not in a historical fiction mood at the moment. So I'll come back to it later on!

I will say that this particular book in the trilogy is harder for me to get into because, while I find Elizabethan London fascinating, I also find it frustrating. Having Diana transported to this time dulls her a bit. She's so intelligent and so vibrant, but the backdrop is slowly draining away her color.

Yes, yes, I do know that the way women were treated during this time is being portrayed accurately. It doesn't mean that I have to like what it's doing to poor Diana though :).
